I always find it incredible that I can flick through magazines or blogs and spot the Australian designs from 20 paces away. There's a very particular aesthetic coming from that corner of the world at the moment, a look that is simultaneously raw and structured.

It is however a very conservative market where the service of an architect is considered a luxury, which makes it all the more special that great houses like this are still being built despite the difficult conditions.
