House of the Week 167: Temple Hill Residence


Temple Hills Residence is a two-story house located on a 5,000 ft2 site in Laguna Beach, California. Designed by Schola Architecture Studio, the contemporary house is a renovation of an older hillside home built in the 1940s. The final product utilizes renewable building materials and sustainable design practice and the interiors are airy with a vibrant mix of materials.

I like the clean lines and design elements as a whole but .....

Really, can architects come up with anything but rectangles set on top of each other and walls of glass??

History....yeah, look at the buildings from the 1890's to the late 20's ...did we forget about architectural artistry?
