House of the Week 160: Jewell Box

The Jewell Box in San Diego, California designed by Architects Magnus is composed of two buildings bridged by a two-story latticed verandah. The first building, located at the front of the site, is the main living space for the young family with the kitchen and bedrooms and affords views of the bay and distant foothills. The other building is at the rear yard and is a guesthouse with framed views to an existing tree.

Model home is extraordinary. Cool to the eye, and has a very high architectural value.

Love the use of wood and the lattice verandah. Wish there were more photos as it sounds like there are great views and lots more rooms.
