Stadiums of EURO 2004
The Estadia de Lieira, renamed the Dr. Magalhães Pessoa Stadium designed by architect Tomás Taveira and the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon by HOK Sport below
It's a pitty that none of those images correspond to José Alvalade Football Stadium in Lisbon. The first one is "Dr. Magalhães Pessoa" Stadium by Tomas Taveira, in Leiria, 150km from Lisbon. The second one, "Estadio da Luz" is in Lisbon alright, but was designed by the australians HOK S+V+E (1st stage) and Arch. Miguel Menano (2nd stage). The reffered Stadium of Sporting Clube de Portugal, "José Alvalade Stadium", was demolished in 2004 and substituted by "Alvalade XXI Stadium", designed by Ballast Neddam (1st stage) and Tomas Taveira (2nd stage).
