An artist has created a towering cathedral of light & shadow using nothing more than 2x4's & nails, and the help from an entire community. Erected & destroyed for the burning man festival held annually in the middle of the Nevada desert.
The work and the festival brings to mind the book Architecture Must Burn, by Aaron Betsky + Erik Adigard

Building Design reports on a near complete prefabricated house in East London designed by architect David Adjaye. The external finish of engineered timber is said to improve thermal and acoustic performance.

Unbuilt project by the Design Office for Research and Architecture (DORA) for ranch with a unique water collection system. The site affords heavy snowfall during the winter but dry summers. The project proposed waterways to collect melted snow which were stored & filtered on the roof.

Philharmonie de Paris
architect Jean Nouvel has been chosen to design a new €200 million orchestra hall to be constructed in the capital's largest green, Parc de la Villette in northeastern Paris. The city has long been criticized for its lack of a proper music hall and when completed in 2012 with provide a state of the art 2,400-seat venue.

Will in US
Will Alsop has revealed the much-anticipated renderings for the Glenwood waterfront regeneration project. The Glenwood project will on completion be New York's first carbon-free building. The project will transform the old power plant switch house into a new contemporary art museum with residences, shops and restaurants hovering above the original building.
